Arbitration

Arbitration is a consensual dispute resolution process based on the parties’ agreement. Such arbitration is conducted in accordance with the terms of the parties’ arbitration agreement. Arbitration is quasi civil litigation with features its procedural flexibility, which allows parties to engage in an efficient, confidential and fair process leading to a final, binding and enforceable award.

An award issued by arbitrator is a similar kind of judgment hand down by judge in civil court. Arbitration awards are enforceable in over 150 countries around the world due to the application of the New York Convention on the recognition and enforcement.

An arbitral award may be converted into court order by application to the high court in Hong Kong.



UNCITRAL Rules of Arbitration is popularly being used by international arbitration for cross board arbitration.
